I have a theory, the 3-5-7 Theory. Attentionspan seems to follow a certain cycle. If your product isnt a one-time hit aka hot for one year, it will fall in popularity in the 3rd year. This is when the producer has to change the concept that it will feel fresh and new to get attention back. And this happens again in the 7th and 9th year. If a product reaches the 7th and 9th year, it will become a legacy product that can bank on nostalgia.
