The seller weirdly didn't fight me for it, just let me keep it, which was the biggest red flag. I heard bootleggers just let you keep the copy versus having to put up a fight and possibly bring bad attention to their shenanigans. I didn't have enough proof to say they were selling bootleg copies intentionally though.
In the past at least 12 years of buying on eBay, this kind of stuff has never happened to me. You have to be extra careful these days. If a shop has been open only a year or two, you should really review the sellers feedback history, items they are selling, and any additionaly info. that may raise red flags. I do still buy from eBay, just need to be extra, extra careful.
