>>10185733Don't be afraid anon. McFarlane usually constructs his figures in a "layered" way, where there is usually an overhang or overlay covering the joint area. So you're really just carving away at the inside of the toy, which will never ever be visible. You can be as messy/sloppy as you want (well, to a point at least) and your figure will still look the same when you put it back together. That's why I suggested just trying it, ideally on a discounted figure. It'll get you over the fear once you see how easy it is.
This guy dremeled around the balljoint socket, but I just use a normal xacto knife. The plastic is so soft it carves out with very little effort at all.
