>>7297328Agreed. Domestic sales peaked with RotF and declined substantially by TLK. International sales covered the difference and more though. China was a huge contributor, with DotM and and AoE pulling in over a billion $, but then sales fell off a cliff for TLK. So domestic numbers had been trending in a bad direction since the 3rd film, and the 5th film failed domestically and internationally. It doesn't matter who the director was for the 6th film, it was going to have an uphill climb at the box office.
