>>8162177I was really excited about this seemingly being Yamaguchi inspired in some ways. But the articulation was just not quite there compared to the times figma does a good job at it like Samus. The bicep swivel is clumsy with sculpt bumping around, and hip articulation is not the best. Sculptor just went fuck it make the black part soft, but it's not really that soft. And shoulder butterfly joints are structurally scary to handle.
I wrote this before but I hope AY could do classic Gridman and the armored forms as separate action figures. Takara owns some of the rights? Is it 100% Tsuburaya? Either way Kaiyodo works with both, it's so doable until we get definitive SHF version. Ultra-Act went with wearing the armor, but AY could do Thunder Gridman and King Gridman as their own figures, same articulation style as Optimus, more poseable than ever. Imagine God Zenon made the same way and next to AY Optimus. Evolution Toy is going with the transform and combine gimmick looking goofy so stylized high articulation could totally work.
