You can't really use the cheap dry pastels. Those are pricey. Then there's the sealant. You may practice with Krylon mate clear but the results will be iffy. The best one is Mr Super Clear (MSC) and it's a Japanese import. If you live outside of Japan or the USA, prepare to pay the big bucks.

Even if you look at tutorial, it's an illusion that it's easy. Trust me, it cost me a small fortune and it too countless hours and retries just to achieve something basic at >>7310940

I will never be a pro that's for sure. I may give up entirely once I finish a Bratz head. After that, if I ever want something specific and perfect, I'll leave the work to a pro and pay the 100$ or so for the commission.

I'm just one more number in the hobby's statistics.
