Really, with that design, you have to tread lightly because it either ends up overdesigned, or, in this case, too generic if you alter it too much. I'm not the biggest fan of it myself, but Darwyn Cooke designed it very tightly and every little aspect has a purpose. The two biggest issues, I'd say, beyond the tightness of the suit, is the ring on her zipper was removed, when its mean to look like a cat's collar, its on her belt now, when she's meant to have a big belt buckle. Also, her cowl is now too open, instead of connecting with the goggles to look like a modern version of her classic cowl. Overalls he just looks like a regular woman in a catsuit, not entirely "Catwoman". I get that its nitpicking, but thats just how I feel. I felt the same about the Dark Knight Rises costume.
Still, I hope they do their take on a purple suit variant. Something like the 90's suit,t hough I'm not sure how they'd do the hair(although, towards the end of her first series, she cut her hair short). Cooke runs circles around Jim Balent as an artist, but I'll always think of the purple Balent boobsock costume as catwoman first(well, maybe a close second to Pfeiffer's catwoman.
