>>7791997I've always laughed at the ridiculous infrastructure that would be needed to somehow pay millions of people to pretend to be Star Wars fans and reimburse them for their purchases without a single soul - either on the Disney end or all the people regularly being paid by Disney - ever breathing a word about it, despite there having to be a paper trail a mile wide in order for any of this to work.
Like, if you're actually a paid Disney shill, do you get to charge Disney by the hour? Do you get reimbursed for gas and expenses? Is the tax form you get at the end of the year from Disney a 1099? How do you list this on your Schedule Cs? Does the hundreds of millions of dollars that Disney spends on this shadow program come from the company's marketing budget or its operations budget? Has anyone at Disney ever pointed out how they're actually not making any money by paying people to buy their own products? Do they pay in cash, check, direct deposit or PayPal? If PayPal, then how does PayPal categorize these payments, especially if you get paid enough that you trip their tax threshold? How does any of this show up on the IRS when these payments cross THEIR freelancing income threshold?
You can tell that the people who kick and scream about Disney shills have never actually worked a day in their fucking lives or have absolutely no fucking idea how business, finances or freelancing work in the real world.
