You're right about the included stand limiting its posing, but that doesn't take away from the figure having great articulation. I plan to make a marionette type stand for my rathalos to do more dynamic poses, including turf wars.
My personal favorite pose I can do with it now is the derpcharge from the early games, when wyverns all had virtually the same moveset. The king of the skies used to slide on its belly in its frustration to hit the hunter.
