>>10410637I'm backkkkk. Modeled the basement obstructions (columns, water main, electrical and hot water access, existing bench) as well to help with designing. I'm liking this one so far. I have a loop crossover, plus a little point to point in the middle with access to the mainline. I've seen Amtrak road switchers pulling around a couple freight cars on mainlines before so that could fun to model. Walls exist to the left and bottom, top and right are just areas I'd like to stay out of. If I design my bench right I'll have good access all around the layout.
Mainline, Yard & Crossover: 24" min radius and #6 switches
Interior Point to Point: 18" min radius and #4 switches
I probably won't get around to building this for year or two. New roof this summer, kitchen reno come fall, 100 other minor house projects, plus the overtime to fund it all.
