>>9584818I've not worked with cloth a lot myself and I don't think this is quite the advice you're after, but a fun trick for making fabric look like leather is to just coat it in a couple coats of gloss paint. It's what I did with this Punisher when his jacket immediately disintegrated into a mess of peeling vinyl straight out of the package. Obviously you can do this with any color you want too which is nice.
