After a long and unfortunate period of absence I have returned, bringing you a blast from the past!
This time it's the 1986 Classic Space XT Starship!
This mid-range ship must have been all the rage back in the day as it comes equipped with the innovative Light and Sound system. This meant it had 4 small lights that could blink intermittently or stay on and one speaker system that could play two different sound types.
Apart from this the ship also had other features such as a detachable front and rear section and a small flyer that could be tucked away in the rear section and used when needed.
Where I feel it falls short is the number of figures. With only one CS astronaut I feel the set is somewhat lacking in this regard. I understand why they did it, as there is little room on the ship where a second figure could be seated, but at least a droid of some sort tucked away near the flyer could have been added.
Overall I feel this is a great set. It's sturdier than I initially thought it would be and I think it would have been a blast to play with as a kid.
If you're a fan of early Space stuff, you should have this one on your radar.
