>>10024800my favorite part of the line are the vehicles. every one of them is just fucking stellar. to date, I've never seen so much effort poured into one line's vehicles. that blend of 50's retrofuturism and 1980s excess just lends itself nicely to the toyline overall. I think the line fails on two fronts for me though. For starters, despite the dozens of robocops they released, none of them have any real uniformity with the vehicles. They're all great robocops on their own, but I'd have killed for a set of Robo and the Ultra Police that were actually cohesively uniformed. My second gripe being the ultra police themselves. You'd think it would be easy for Kenner of all companies to come up with visually interesting companions for robo outside of just Ann Lewis. Instead we just ended up with these weyland-yutani centurion wanna bes. Kenner was very close to striking gold here, but I get the vibe those two points soured everything. It's much easier to sell a robocop than it would be to sell "birdman barnes". If we're lucky maybe Lanard grabs the license sometime in the future and gives us a second shot at the ultra police concept.
