>>8150973>We're not justifying the priceLOL, but you are. You're arguing about UNKNOWN qualities like the quality of plastics and pretending they're higher quality... because you're upset that McFarlane talked about how Japanese companies rip otakus off.
Everything you're doing and replying for is because you NEED to justify the price, and you're lying to do it.
>The figures sell just fine because their target market (us) can afford their figures just fine. LOL, which is why you guys need to claim that some guy bought some unknown figure for $30. Which figure? And what's it's MSRP? Did that guy wait 6 months for that figure to be marked down, eventually go on clearance, and buy it because he's that much of a poorfag and didn't want to pay the rape prices Japanese collector companeis charge?
Shit, how many figures do YOU buy as a PREORDER in order to get the best discount? I know /toy/ is full of these people. This is directly constrasted by western collector toys rarely ever being discounted or put on sale, especially in comic shops. A preorder is exactly MSRP and people buy it up, because the demand is there.
No hem and hawing like you see in Figma, Figuart, and Jojo threads where you guys constantly are seeking the best deals, because you guys know how overpriced Japanese collector toys are.
This is how the Japanese collector market has worked, ever since they started overpricing anime VHS/BETA/LASERDISCs. A small niche market stays small because of the price, selling low thousands to tens of thousands vs hundreds of thousands. Since the small niche market is so small, yep, shit's going to be more expensive, because greedy companies can't think into the future for a larger market
Yet here you are defending their greedy practice, because you don't want to admit how overpriced your toys are and how these collector companies see you as nothing but dullwitted otaku who are used to taking it up the ass.
