I can't fault you for giving it a try. don't feel too bad. I probably would have insisted they "give you something extra" to compensate for the hassle of the return taking up your time, and having to wait to get your set that you originally ordered.
(I think the last time they messed up an order of mine I got free VIP points at least)
maybe if you were a bit more of a "Karen" they would have said "y'know, don't worry about it, you can donate the extra set to charity" (to try and guilt you out of keeping it yourself)
