I don't know who came up with that shiny face gimmick, but it was truly cancer. I've never spoken to a doll collector who ever enjoyed those shiny faces, but every doll company thought it was going to be the hot new thing. Even Limited Edition Disney dolls got fucked over with the shiny face gimmick.
