The reality is that this general has primarily consisted of people that build mainly Gundam models since it's inception. This general's been something like 70% Gundam, 25% Non-Gundam mecha/scifi kits, and 5% non-mecha/anime related model kits for ages now. That isn't due to people in these threads obsessing over Gundam or hating on non-Gundam kits, it's just that Gundam models (And most bandai kits for that matter) are:
>Much more beginner friendly/entry level than other similar models>Much more affordable than other models (ie: the average HG Gundam is like $20-30 USD, while the average Frame Arms kit is like $40-$60 USD)>Far more easily obtainable than other plamo lines due to Bluefin getting not only local hobby shops to stock Gunpla but also big name stores like Gamestop and Target. (Especially with the recent shipping issues and kit shortages fucking over most people ordering straight from Japan)You're free to dislike Gundam and the designs, that's your opinion and that's perfectly acceptable, but to complain about Gunpla in this general is like going into the Tokusatsu general and bitching about the number of people talking about Kamen Rider stuff.
