>>6886416>>6885948>LQ, Can you test it for us? The Glorious Brick Vac I mean. Like spill some bricks on different surfaces and see how well it perform. Mostly asking because of lots of lots of smaller pieces we have nowdays.OK anon I did some tests for you and I am back to report with pictures.
First test was some 1x1 round studs and some 4L bars on a hard flat surface. The first pass with the Brick Vac barely managed to pick up a handful of pieces and sent the rest of the pieces scattering everywhere. It was hard to put enough force on it to pick up some pieces without other pieces causing the parts that got caught in the wheels from rolling away.
A second pass didn't net very many more than the first one, even after I lined up the pieces into a more narrow trail to make it easier for the vac. It would probably be faster to sort them all by hand.
Third test was the studs and 4L bars on carpet. One pass from the vac picked up almost all of the studs that weren't near the bars, but had a hard time grabbing anything near the bars.
Fourth test was with 2x4 bricks on a hard flat surface. The first time I tried to run the vac over them, some bricks jammed the wheels and I couldn't complete the test. I rearranged the bricks into a narrow path and tried it again, but the vac wheel couldn't turn.
Fifth test was 2x4 bricks on carpet. One pass with the vac picked up almost all of the bricks.
My overall opinion on set 1666 Brick Vac is that it works very well for quickly picking up bricks on carpeting, but is very bad at anything else. However, it is probably the reason why 16x18 baseplates exist, so we can be thankful for that.
