Maybe an anon has the picture I can't find but I remember there's one that's supposed to be aiming, but when you take the gun away his head is collapsed into his shoulders Sims 3-style.

It's usually a loose joint, too small a footprint, the sculpt hindering the legs, the toy being top-heavy, or a combination of most/all of the above. I wouldn't mind paying around $6 more per toy if it meant getting a stand with a clamp.
