Wild card announcements and vidya are fun, but what really carried the line to what it was today was just seasonal anime that was at least moderately successful. It used to be that you could just watch something and know it had a solid chance of getting a figma if it was even mildly popular. Now it just feels like it needs to be literal top of the season to even have a chance, and then it's most likely gonna compete with another brand. Maybe I'm just way off base and the licensing fees really were strangling the line, but I just feel like pumping out tons of ocs has done nothing but destroy the appeal of the line.
