I like the concept behind BOTM, but I bought three of the raptors and from an action figure standpoint they're kind of shit.
They absolutely cannot stand up on their own, as their tiny floppy legs will never support their weight, and the stands supplied are terrible. Every pose is a delicate balancing act and the slightest jostle sends them tumbling.
They really need a figma-style stand with actual adjustable, tightening arms instead of a bunch of cheap acetate ball jointed rods. Maybe add peg holes with removable covers for when clamps won't cut it.
The paint on the ones I got is not quite as nice as the ones pictured on the website. It's actually pretty sloppy in a lot of places. Part and parcel of using paint masters as promotionals I guess.
And too many parts are made from soft plastic as opposed to hard plastic, meaning that those parts will eventually degrade and leak plasticizer, slough off their paint, and very likely fuse to the hard plastic like so many NECA and Mcfarlane figures do over time. These dinos have a built-in lifespan.
Nice concept, but amateur production quality, and way too expensive for what you get IMHO.
