The highlight of my december was getting my grandfathers childhood prewar lionel locomotive up and running, and talking it down to my family's for christmas and setting it up around my parents tree and having my grandmother see it running. It was fulfilling, and messing around with it was so enjoyable. I can't believe how well it runs, though I need to spend some time getting the whistle tender working.
Any one know if an e-unit was standard equipment on old lionels? This doesn't have one, but with some of the interesting wiring that was living in there, I think it may have.
