The 2016 Toa's extra armor you're talking about i think you mean are the Creatures that combine with the Toa are sold separately. I would reccomend getting the respective creature for whatever 2016 Toa you get, it makes them look a lot better and more complete. For the 2015 Toa though, the smaller sets aren't required I would say. Pic related is another good set which also comes with a legendary mask like Umarak does, though this one is $30 instead of $20. Arguably much cooler legendary mask though, and 2 figures in 1 set.
