>>7766389>wouldn't you say TF toys are "terrible" as well?you are talking about a good 5,000+ toys made over the years. If you love just the toys you likely just love certain sets or just certain ones.
>If you're only into elitism and liking "objectively amazing and tasteful" thingsmore of a stretch of what was said and there is a lot wrong with the fiction
>>7766406>By design Transformers stories are unable to escape a certain set of tropes and clichesThey do it all the time though. Season 3 of the OG introduced machine creators of the transformers, while the comic years later ran the idea of a God. Beast Wars brought in Sparks and organic alt mode concepts, a 300 year time jump and changed the factions and setting a great deal. Armada brought in Minicons which recon all the cassettes and most small bots to count as that. 07 Movie introduced the All Spark as a creator of the machines, and Animated followed that. Around Transformers Prime we got the 13 Primes stuff that is being carried around now.
And this isn't even getting into the now 8 Optimus Prime personalities(as well as others) we have had over the years
for fucksakes Prowl went from a wisecracking Police car to a zen ninja motorcycle to a neurotic doomsayer with anger issues
I think we undersell how little the fandom as a whole really cares about the lore/stories.
