I like to imagine the Vex figure was the last hurrah of the early DCMV era 2020 to mid 2022 McFarlane designer team (even though its CR, I'm sure designers cross lines somewhat). This was before it all went to hell as Mattelman took over Multiverse again and we got tons of reused body bucks used for inappropriate characters, Blue Beetle and Booster Gold leotards ran wild, sloppy reuse like Eradicator and his Cheeto-hands became the norm, and a trend towards caring less about hiding articulation + figure diapers to where now the figures don't even try to hide them on average.
Vex exemplifies a lot of the 2020 to mid-2022 traits before this with many of the flaws ironed out. The diaper is magnificently hidden with a sacrifice of articulation, the evening gloves hide the bicep swivel perfectly, the coolness of the fur collar pauldron on her right side is prioritized over being able to fully raise the arm. The hair sculpt stands out as well. I could do without the side eye but it's not a deal breaker for me. It gives her a sassy look that screams executive decision rather than pandering to the loudest people in the room with extra hands, blank stares and worst of all bland 60s-80s leotard designs with no detail.
