>>6841471>Amazon's business model was to literally sell everything at a loss for borderline a decade in order to build a brand, and to build trust and faith in their consumer base. And all of this was based off a successful online book sales business which subsidized it. There is nothing stopping anyone else from also doing this and ruining them. Amazon's final battle will be with Walmart anyway, a company that did the exact same thing in the 80s and 90s. It's just more mindless corporate bum fights, the winner of which will be whoever manages to have the most stable and most loyal customer base. This is obviously a corner owned by grocery stores, hence Amazon's attempt at competing in that market.
>Amazon is such a big part of people's lives now that it'll be as difficult for people to leave as it is for people to leave eBay. People fucking HATE eBay, but don't leave because they're so used to and there's quite literally no other option.Walmart is such a big part of people's lives now that it'll be as difficult for people to leave as it is for people to leave Sears. People fucking HATE Sears, but don't leave because they're so used to and there's quite literally no other option. Where else can a parent get glasses, hearing aids, clothes, a TV, parts for a washing machine, a 3/18 drill shank and perfume while their car is being worked on? There is no other option.
