I thought I'd share some neat trivia. Here are the Gulliver Toys Super heroes. Essentially, this colombian toy company wanted to cash in on the success of the kenner super powers toyline. At first they utilised mego pocket super hero molds to avoid paying licensing costs for the kenner product. They produced all the big heroes of the day, and even went as far as to make their own hero and insert him into the line, the titular, "Captain Ray".
Later on down the line they got the kenner molds for cheap, and then expanded their line up of original heroes by constructing new characters from the pre-existing backlog of kenner parts. Here's a good video explaining it all. Pic related is their "Defenders of the Earth" line.
