Maybe I haven't seen it in dynamic enough poses, but it doesn't look dynamic or imposing enough, and those are kinda things you need from Azrael. Also, I agree with you on the color palette, the Mafex loses something. The McFarlane one looks stylized, but the Mafex one looks dull, almost washed out.
Then again, I still think the DCUC one - for all its flaws - is still one of the few ones that holds up after all these years, so YMMV.
