It's not perfect, but it's good at being a small time waster on your wrist and it has features I'm really hoping becomes regular in the future. Like cuddling your Tama till it falls asleep, or petting and talking to it.
It's a good option for a newbie for sure. A good mix between a standard Tama and a Nano. If a Nano seems too simple and the Pix too advanced, the Smart isn't bad at all
Of course this is all coming from someone who is used to this shit. The menus are in Japanese, but you can easily find guides online, and the charging is finicky, but just plug it into your PC and keep an eye on it and it should be fine. How you turn it off feels weird though. It feels like you're absolutely doing something you shouldn't. Like you're breaking it. But it's been going fine for me so far and I haven't heard anyone say it has broken on them because of that so yea.
Buy a Tamacard with the device though. Otherwise the selection of characters is a bit lacking
