Bandai had an 8" Maligore planned which went unreleased, and were given a second chance to release it as Dark Specter the following year but still didn't. Hasbro went pretty hard on In Space, but rather than release a Dark Specter figure in their monster line, which people wouldn't have minded being extra big, they just released MMPR monsters of the day.
