>>7726569>It seems a lot of lines are doing that before they get a fair shake at success. Like Nerf Laser Tag ProWell one of the biggest issues is how to score non-lethal shooty combat, especially impartially.
Without any Automated Electronic Scorekeeping you need to keep a manual tally, and thus require at least one referee to keep things impartial, as well as making the scoring methods extremely clear and easy to see.
Dart Tag only gave you a tiny felt vest with various sized targets on it or a Jersey with big patchs of Vel (the loops part) sewn onto it for the Cro (the hooks part) to stick to...
But the Cro was ALSO a patch glued to the Dart Tips and easily pulled itself off, meaning you could have Darts that had nothing to cling with on top of small, barely visible targets for them to cling TO.
While the Darts would need re-engineering, I'm thinking a waffle-head with Cro hooks molded right into the rubber, I had some very easy solutions for Registering Hits and Scoring.
1. A LOT of Referees, at the very least one at each corner of the field, each keeping a tally of how many Darts successfully stuck to a player, the player requiring a Ref's permission to remove any stuck Dart.
2. Larger and more simplified Targeting Areas, with the old Vest being used to mark your "Vitals" and worth more points, worn over sufficiently fuzzy Disposable Coveralls the Cro would hopefully stick to most of the time.
