To be fair though, the Project V machines aren't really -too- much of GATTAI machines. While all modular, and while able to combine, they aren't truly made of separate vehicles, except for in cases like the G-Armor.
You get true combiner MS in the ZZ Gundam and Victory Gundam. Victory Gundam as a series especially had a lot of combining MS, like the early BESPA ground warfare MS, the Zolo.
