You get a good smattering of vintage parts, an island baseplate, classic figures, and you can get it for literally $70-$75 which seems heinously cheap. Buy that and a raised baseplate for $40 and you could make your own pirate island base for under $150. That's comparable to the creator pirate ship, and significantly cheaper than the barracuda bay.
I really don't think most vintage lego is 'overpriced' when you consider new large lego sets are $200-350 on the regular, and a 25 year old classic set can still be had for sub $150. The pirate ships and sets with raised baseplates are inflated in price because the sail conditions are hard to find, and baseplates are awesome, but you can just buy one seperate. If you want a boat, just get the bay.
