>>11120187>comparing mcstatues to a modern era articulated figureooof. Why are trolls always retarded?
My post was about the actually articulated figures in the 00s and how [overall] prices have increased 3-4x (due to multiple economic circumstances), because what McFarlane is producing today is different from what they were doing in 2007. So i wasn't referencing McFarlane's Mcstatues from 2007, but referring to Toy Biz MLs and 1:18 figures, since they were super articulated and had a decent amount of paint. This is the baseline when it comes to comparing costs.
McFarlane Toys started making McStatues because they wanted to focus on their figures in a more artistic way. They cut out articulation to increase the budget on the paint, and this was back when paint apps were cheap.
So imagine if McFarlane was making super articulated figures in 2007, ONTOP of that level of paint. As we all know, the molds are the most expensive part of the figure. So adding 30-50 extra pieces to mold would have doubled the price in 2007. That would probably put it to put it a bit below Revoltech prices back then and twice as much as a ML in 2007
Shock and awe, the Medeival Spawn figure is about twice as much as a modern ML and a bit below a Japanese collector figure today.
Are /toy/ lunatics for buying any modern line? If your answer is anything but "no", you're a retarded troll.
Pic of of what a Spawn figure actually cost in 2007. A $16 price isn't realistic if it were super articulated.
