I was not really into Transformers during the original Beast era, so I never really got into it.
I started buying some of the old toys on a whim recently, and FUCK, this shit is so good. I am having the best time. I guess I got so used to Hasbro's rather minimalist modern offerings that I am blown away by the sumptous, plentiful paint apps, the chromed parts, the metallic and clear plastics...they're just beautiful. And the engineering is surprising me a lot too, I assumed toys from back then would be somewhat primitive but there are some really inventive transformations and a surprising amount of articulation. I got B'Boom yesterday and he might be one of my all-time favorite TFs now.
Sorry to gush, I just feel like I opened up this secret world that everyone else was privy to for years, and it's intensely exciting.
