You could try a fabric marker of your choice of colour followed by coloured chalk dust for weathering.

I used those methods for dying the coats grey and black here and to add some distressing and highlighting to the bottom of the coats.

Like >>6538516 said, ever since they walked away from the post apocalyptic aesthetic, a good number of people lost interest in them.

The 1/12 outfits were well made though, enjoyed repurposing them for Marvel Legends bodies.
