Showa, Heisei, and at least KiryuGoji all have skulls that are almost definitively those of a synapsid because of their single temporal fenestra. The presence of mammal-like external ears in several of the Showa, Heisei, and Millenium designs also pushes far more toward Godzilla being a Synapsid, even though he's often called a dinosaur in the Show and Heisei eras. Instead of being a dinosaur, Goji is more like a Sphenacodontid like Dimetrodon.
The picture of Dagon's skeleton from G14 lined up with the older "Godzilla is a Synapsid" idea, and was even more extreme in how mammalian it was despite losing the external ears. Dagon's skull almost looks like a bear skull.
The promo for GxK and the new Bandai Skeleton for MV Goji is a huge shift away from Godzilla is a Synapsid to Godzilla is a Sauropsid and even more it looks like Godzilla is some kind of Archosauromorph. He's got an Antorbital fenestra which is only found in Archosaurs like dinosaurs and basal Crocodylomorphs. His Naris is much more reptilian than the more mammal Naris of the older Godzilla.
