>>6603431That's like three different issues mixed in one though.
>But people who insist to others that you need to spend big to make your doll look acceptable can fuck right off. There is spending big and there is spending "big".
If you are telling me the latter (i.e. spending more than just the bare minimum on everything) isn't needed to have an acceptable looking doll I don't believe you.
Sure there's quite a middle ground between 80$ eyes and 8$ acrylic eyes, but you still need to invest some money if you want something that is looking nice. Even if it's just proper materials and time to do your own shit with enough training.
>I've spent years in this hobby trying to style my dolls to other people's aesthetics and 10 years later I'm just done with that. Yeah, that's like your problem, dude. If you can't grow some balls and do what you want with your money that's your problem. Nobody sat next to your computer and held the trigger to your head when you bought that thing you deep down didn't want.
>Years spent on DoD judging others people dolls were just wasted time I could have spent doing what I wanted with my collection.Weird, I did that too (albeit only the ones that were seriously eye poison "Kim's World of Art" level) but somehow I still managed to take care of my collection.
Maybe instead of posting here and getting riled up again you should, uh, well, do what you want with your dolls.
Honestly I don't care what people do with their money (recasts not counting).
I just hate it when those people who never spent a dime whine around when they see nice dolls and don't want to accept that this takes effort (on all levels).
Especially when they piss on artists for offering their stuff for "too much money" or get defensive.
I do agree though that some people took the judging too far in the past.
I mean, I too thought sockdress/fur wig/cheap chinese gayboi dolls are trash, but I just kept that to myself and didn't make a big deal out of it.
