Bandai were ahead in many areas 15 years ago, now not at all. The difference is far more obvious outside of gunpla/robot kits, but even as far as gunpla goes, Some of the recent kits by companies like Volks are miles ahead in terms of precision, parts tolerance, engineering & detail. Its hard to describe if you havent built one but new stuff like the VR maxima just feel so much higher quality, but of course the high price reflects that.
