They're not in scale to begin with, why does a giant robot need to be the same height as the human figures anyways? Japanese toys are not like that, typically the robots are smaller than than human counterparts in that same price range. AY Optimus is in fact much larger than the average robot toys that are not massive 10k+ chogokins. Saying he's small is ridiculous.
