On Jinrai and Magnus, you're meant to be able to slide the waist back, which has the effect of making the legs closer to the center of the body and improving balance (if you don't the legs are closer to the front and it tends to fall back, but it's kind of an optional step)
On Black Jinrai they added a little stopper to keep you from doing that, for some reason (it's hard to see in the picture. Jinrai has no stopper, Black Jinrai has it, Magnus is what it looks like with the waist slid back). I guess a lot of people complained about the vehicle mode being fucked, not realizing they had this step to complete to transform it properly. Still, I want the legs to be able to slide back for balance so I just snipped off that little stopper later.
