Why do I do this, I'm not even finished with my USS Texas yet and I just spent $120 on a Hobby Boss USS Guam and $210 on an Infini models upgrade set for it. I convinced myself if I don't buy it now it will be hard to find this infini upgrade set for cheap in the future and I have wanted to buy the USS Alaska kit for a while but even that is harder to find now a few years after it came out.
In my backlog I have the following in terms of ships:
a 1/700 Hasegawa IJN Myoko with Flyhawk photo etch set partially built
1/350 DKM Prinz Eugen with Flyhawk upgrade set unbuilt
1/350 USS Ranger which I did a ton of work on but other things in my life forced me to stop working on it and it's sat unfinished in its box since. (fuck I need to finish this one)
1/350 Tamiya I-400 with Infini models photo etch set unbuilt
Several 1/700 Flyhawk ship sets I bought over the years and never started working on.
and then I just bought a kit that will take probably 2 months to build and complete, way longer than my USS Texas because it's a much larger kit.
