Anyways to your question you would want to paint your worn color as a base coat, like a dark brown / yellow wood color, then spray chipping fluid, hairspray, etc. then the base color and shade the base color with light and dark tones to get weathering. After that use a wet stiff brush and move it along the paint and it will get into the chipping fluid / hairspray and weather and expose the underside color.
You could also use oils and weather it that way if you want a much lighter weathering solution. Dab some of the color you want to weather on and then just use a brush to modify it until you're satisfied.
