I enjoy Harley because she's just too good of a figure, but anyone else I just can't connect to; and the Smurfening put me off of impulse buying AYs in the future. The thing about capeshit characters is they're as specific as it gets, but at the same time they're amorphous blobs with no history or personality 'cause they've been passed from writer to writer for a century. Anime characters are self-contained and have an actual story that begins and ends so even if I have a basic enjoyment of the show I can still enjoy them. Like I've always known Harley as Joker's sidekick, but these days she's a completely different character that I don't know a thing about.
