Like Maul in PM was a fucking setpiece, Maul in TCW is an actually interesting character. Doesn't really matter that he looked cool and the fight was well coreographed, because who fucking cares.

Especially when all the world building in OT and all the comics and novels and games from the 80s until 99 did the same fucking thing but good. The prequels were good toy commercials and gave actually skilled storytellers and designers something good to work with, nothing more.
