Been thinking of ways to do a more realistic ammo belt, one that falls more realistically and has the correct size than the current .50 cal rubber belts all 1/18 heavy machine guns come with. Been wanting to try this pic related, chopping the clip into smaller bits and stuffing it inside the elastic rubber band. Any one tried something similar? I will try when I arrive home and report results. One issue I'm thinking is how to make the chopped bits of clip pointy and how to cut the elastic band between the "bullets"?
