They actually have chest articulation unlike the gimmick figures (and neck articulation unlike some of the gimmick figures), and they're more standardized/less hampered by gimmicks so you don't get those weird inconsistencies in size like with the gimmick figures. The plastic definitely feels softer and cheaper, though. Kind of like newer Transformers. Also they're completely unpainted on the back which makes them look really cheap from any angle except front-on. I don't know, it's like going from a Super Robot Chogokin to a MiniPla or something and paying roughly the same price. Just feels like a big step down to what we had before. I'd be okay with them if they at least came with fists/open hands consistently because that opens up the possibility for such a wide range of poses.
