I would actually expect that the rate of rejects is higher for a 32x32 base plate than for a regular 2x2 brick while at the same time the production time is longer and as said, a way bigger machine is needed.
The company where i worked a few years ago made medical machines like pic related. The big panels on the front were some of the biggest injection molded parts.There was a lot of scrap during productions sometimes, and if that happened, the machine (our biggest) had to be stopped, granulate had to be removed, cleaning agent filled in, tool had to be removed, cleaned and then the whole thing had to be mounted again, heaters turned on again... etc. Many lost hours (i.e. lost money).
Restarting a small (lets say 30 ton) machine is do-able within an hour for one worker alone.
Restarting the 320 tons machine.. have fun with that if you are the only one working at night if an error occurs.
