>>10446812I agree desu. It's the lack of extra sculpting and the very basic green they have. Compare them to the Dark Angels, who are also rather empty, and they seem far more half-baked because they lack all the fun little trinkets. And then you compare them to Ultramarines and Blood Angels, who still have the same ~30 price of normal marines, and they seem even more lackluster. No wreaths, no paint apps on kneepads and all the purity seals and tabards and whatever, just a basic model with maybe some bolters on the left. Not everything can be as ornate as Black Templars, but the combination of all those shortcomings really makes them come off as lackluster.
Myself I don't know if I'll get any. I generally just like the dragon theme, but I've got no real desire to build a whole army of them. I'll probably wait until they make a Vulcan, and then grab one or two of whatever Salamander version they release at that time to flank him. Myself I like them when they have the pseudo-scale capes and stuff. Without them they're too naked. Something like pic related is what I'm waiting for, but since they weren't on the roadmap for 2023, it'll be 2024 and later.
