It's only within the adult toy category where such items are rare, primarily because of Hasbro's greed. As you pointed out, Mattel still does large figures at retail. Here's another recent example from Spin Master. While it's part of a kids toyline, the size and engineering are roughly equivalent to a Sentinel, proving that Hasbro could absolutely release a $100+ Sentinel at retail if they wanted to. They don't, not because of retailers, but because adult collectors line themselves up to be reamed by Chris Cocks and over-priced, crowdfunded monstrosities with QC issues.
